Robert J. Wassel, MBA, CPA/PFS

After serving in the U.S. Navy and working in various accounting roles, Bob’s deep passion for Economics and Investments has led to his over two decades in financial advising. Clients appreciate his ability to present what is happening in the markets and in the economy in a clear and concise manner.

 

Bob has over 20 years of experience working as a financial advisor and well over 30 years working in Finance and Accounting combined. He has a passion for Economics and Investments that led him to a career in financial advising.


As Lead Investment Advisor at Trinity Wealth Management, his objective is to deliver the highest possible return appropriate for the amount of risk taken in the portfolio. 


Bob served 6 years of active-duty service in the U.S. Navy as a Supply Corps Officer. He also served 16 years as a Naval Reserve Officer and retired having attained the rank of Commander. After completion of his active-duty service, Bob worked for accounting firm KPMG where he earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. 

Education

Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance with a concentration in Financial Markets, University of Georgia


Master of Business Administration, dual concentration of Finance and Accounting, Vanderbilt University

Certificates/Licenses

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – CPA’s are licensed and regulated by their state boards of accountancy. While state laws and regulations vary, the requirement to attain your CPA license generally include:

  

  • Education – Minimum college education (typically 150 credit hours)
  • Examination – Pass the Uniform CPA Examination 
  • Experience – Completion of experience providing accounting services under the supervision of or verification by a CPA


Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) – A credential given by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). This credential distinguishes him from other CPA’s in that it certifies Bob’s ability to provide personal financial planning services. The requirement to hold the PFS credential include:


  • Experience – Completion of 3,000 hours of personal financial planning business experience
  • Examination – Pass a comprehensive financial planning exam
  • Active – Must be an active member of the AICPA and hold an unrevoked CPA license
